Friday, November 28th, 2008
Are you someone who can't walk past a jewellers without stopping to admire the gorgeous pieces displayed in the window? Emeralds, rubies, sapphires… and top of the list, a girl's best friend - the sparkle and shine of a diamond. But have you ever wondered what goes into creating such beautiful pieces? With this experience you'll get the opportunity to watch master craftsmen in their working environment and learn about the clarity and colour of different stones. With your new-found knowledge, you'll each choose your own 0.12ct diamond and a 9ct yellow or white gold band to create your own diamond ring. You'll take part in the whole journey, from bending and soldering to filing and buffing. There'll even be the chance to have your rings engraved before the diamonds are set and they receive a final finish. Your finished rings will have an approximate financial value of £250, but these unique pieces are, of course, priceless! Breakfast, lunch, soft drinks and all materials are included.
