29042104 Circus Skills Day

Did you ever dream of running away to join the circus when you were a kid? This experience will show you what you missed out on. And you're certainly in for a busy day. You'll learn acrobatic balancing and tumbling (like cartwheels and handstands - definitely stuff you can show off to your friends), stilt walking, juggling and diabolo (the spinny thing that you juggle with sticks). And then there's the really amazing stuff - static trapeze, tight wire walking and (drum roll please!) flying trapeze. You won't forget this day in a hurry! If it all sounds impossible, and frankly pretty scary, don't worry; you'll be under constant expert supervision, within a carefully controlled environment. All equipment hire is included (except for the natty sequined costume), and you'll also get lunch at the nearby Juggler Cafe. Just bring a sense of humour, bags of energy and willingness to look like a bit of a clown…

Canyoning for Eight

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

29042099 Canyoning for Eight

Rediscover your sense of adventure - and what it's like to be soaked to the skin! Canyoning is a truly all-round adventure experience, following a natural water course through a precipitous canyon. To start off with you'll have a safety briefing with your instructor and get kitted out with the right equipment. Then after a short walk to the top of the beautiful Allt' a Bhealaich Gorge, you'll follow the natural water course down through the gorge, descending waterfalls, sliding down natural water flumes, scrambling down gorges and jumping into deep, clear rock pools. In some sections you'll use harnesses and ropes to get down, all safely controlled by your instructor. This is a challenging, exciting and very physical experience and you might get a few bumps along the way, but there's a path running along the length of the canyon, so no part of the descent is compulsory - you can always take the path instead.
